that is, i'm feeling partly creative. not only am i up to some 2000 stream-of-consciousness words in my "novel" (nope, you can't read it, not likely anyone ever will, cept mebbe my mom), BUT i've been painting too! woohoo! feels great and i don't hate what i've done yet, howsabout that?!

reading nick bantock these days, and it's given me remarkably good direction. the forgetting room has all sorts of good tidbits on how to make art. so i'm trying to go with it.

cool to play with collage in my paintings -- keeps me loose and from getting too tight and narrow. not sure where it'll all go, but really enjoying it. so far it's all about memory, solid reality of life, loose gauzy feeling of dreams, and my mother (in a good way -- and you thought i was being silly about the mom reference above, didn'tcha?)
