this weekend included a couple great dog walkies at butano state park and stinson beach (sorry no link, the nps site is down for some reason...). we saw the california newts at butano -- weird and gross and cool in that amphibious kinda way (newts always surprise me -- even the tall british ones that help you move). i even got a cool wetsuit at this great shop in pacifica that has all kinds of diving gear. tried to put it to use at stinson, but managed to get in to about my ankles, then ran screaming back to lisa and salami, brie, and my towel. oh well, i didn't have the boogie board anyway.

butano was gorgeous and wooded -- with lots of cool trails and fire roads (dogs area allowed on the fire trails). we didn't see anyone on the trails, and got to muck about with the newts. lisa even spotted an owl in a tree who was memorizing the terrain below. it's right near pescadero, and even has a trail all the way to ano nuevo, so i'm psyched to go back and explore.

but then, to balance out the free fun offered out-of-doors, we did a little shopping (the wetsuit, some head thingies for lisa and bendy who like to swim in cold water above their ankles, shoes...) and had tons of sushi (sushi-making with kav and hill, then sushi sunday with work folks).

and my cellphone is here. now just to cancel my old service, and to wait wait wait for the activation of my new phone. damn this online ordering thing. takes too damn long. oh well.
