well, well, new year at last. spent the last week or so overeating and the like. as usual, i'm about 2-3 months behind, so i can't believe it's already 2002, but you've all heard that before.

had a fab little shindig on new years day -- lots of people mingling successfully (tho there was some inadvertent herding of people at one point, and some odd posturing re: the fireplace) -- the only photo that came out was of pedro (that's him partying above). the timing was impeccable, the dogs all broke loose right after my allergic friend departed (she's more than just the sum of her allergies, but she's departing from sf shortly, so we'll just refer to her as the allergic friend for now...), there was time for mah johng, cranium, *and* taboo (yep, we won cranium, which is why i know kavita will forgive the earlier disparaging comments).

bendy came by and talked no shop all evening, despite being in geek company (what a nice boy), and a few people even swapped cards (oh, those regularly employed folks crack me up). and of course, there was plenty of good food to go around (hoppin john and greens for good luck and money, according to my roommate).
