dogfull=godless?
so, i was going to rant and rave about the stupid "quality of life hotline" that gavin being-rich-can't-make-up-for-brains-and-a-soul newsome has come up with. in case you haven't heard, he's got a 1-800-gavin-sux hotline to call if your quality of life is being offended by some panhandler, never mind that there already exists legislation to restrict pandhandling in specific locations (near atms, for instance). they'd just better have a provision for other quality of life offenses -- the men in black that always want to talk to me about god (like someone walking dogs needs god -- dog is god, if you look at it right). and what about the idjoits that think the dog i'm walking (be it bassett, lab, or chihuahua) is THE dog that killed diane whipple? I mean honestly, I'm afraid of yuppies, but I don't squeal when they walk by (thanks to lots of socialization) -- they could do the same and practice a little restraint.

way to kick 'em when they're down, gav. don't fall for his pseudo-spritual "I give a shit and want to help" spin -- gavin is targeting the homeless in a shameless effort to build his voter base for the next mayoral run (yes, there are plenty of people who think we should just "hose them off the streets"). do we really want this kennedy-wannabe as our next mayor?

oh, but the reason I'm not (?) ranting (yeah, well, whatever) is that I just read on jill's blog that the musee mecanique is closing down this year. damn. one of the coolest things sf has to offer -- and one of the only places you can still have fun with nickles and dimes. jill also has a link to a dogshow photo that illustrates how far awry dog breeding can go. I need to eat something before linking to it, so you'll have to just go read her blog. it's well past time to eat.

mebbe it's the hunger that's making me grumpy. of course, there's this hideously annoying holiday today -- dees is thousands of miles away, headed for a tropical island (waah) -- but I just hate this day. gonna try and spend some quality time with Kehoe today, as we rarely hang out anymore (she's got quite the social life).

oh, and there's the little issue of a parental visit. they're arriving a whole 24 hrs earlier, so today's my only day to prepare. Prepararions include cleaning, cleaning, running in little circles, drinking lots of coffee, forgetting to eat. Oh, and stressing out. Which reminds me, I just read an article on not eating while stressed (it's fattening). I wonder, do they think we'll just never eat, being stressed all the time? and how the hell is starving better than stress??? ok enough, time to eat. with any luck, I'll be happier and more consistent with my capitalization next time.
