such inordinate passion
thanks to jill, yet again, for the fabulous link to the salon article the existence of dog. ...
marching on
march already... and the naata film fest is here -- which means (besides excellent films) cold season. this year I'm playing it slow and just checking out one set of shorts. of course, if the justin lin (opening night gala) film gets some additional play, I'll try and catch that as well. ...
kehoe
is growing like a weed. a furry sweetfaced weed. she's figured out that rolling over will score treats with the chicks (and often with the guys as well), so she spends her days zeroing in on shelter visitors who venture near the treat jar. if they seem likely to have a treat, she starts with sit, and goes through her repetoire of tricks (sit-down-rollover-sit-down-rollover!). it's a showstopper (or meetingstopper, as the case may be).
we had an odd day of strange interactions -- one guy even pulled a switchblade out in response to her barking (looks like she was right, the guy was a threat!). then there was the rollerblading kid, the skater kid, the various loud folks on the street, and me shopping at endless san-x vendors.
all in a good day of dog socialization. she's wiped out and snoring next to dees on the bed (they're both snoring, actually). ...
mabel
and, well, can't leave her out -- mabel joined us for a weekend excursion to kehoe beach -- keep an eye out for photos (far behind on photos, so expect them up in about a year). sweet mabel seems to have sunburnt her nose, and worn her pads a little thin. still, the sight of mabel bounding through the water was not to be missed. watching her, I came to understand that flight is indeed possible.
i spent the day sleeping, eating and painting. out of the four of us, i ate more than everyone combined. hah. more summer weather, pleeez!
