Obama-day! Finally, we're here: President Obama.
Watched the historic moment in our cosy living room with Miz A, sy and the dogs. Had coffee, oatmeal and twitter on hand, tears in our eyes. Way to go, team us!Labels: 2009, inauguration, moblog, obama

Aw yeah! Chicken and waffles at brown sugar kitchen. Will review properly on yelp, but these were dang good, if a bit pricey. I'm still drooling over the crunchy goodness of the waffles and the steaming hot juiciness of the chicken (i added a bit of salt and hot sauce, but it was still good). Oh, and thx to miz cat for the tip!Labels: chicken and waffles, foodie, moblog

Pisco Crashing the expo party was semi successful. For all that we might be a sinking ship, i do love the peeps i work(ed) with. Sorry to miss the civil actions in oaktown, but glad that folks got out to rally. Sorry to hear that some folks decided to damage stuff in their own communities. Much love and respect to everyone. Goodnight!Labels: beers, happy hour, moblog

Favorite new stamp
kinda a weird habit of mine. i've been collecting discarded stamps and hoarding them in my desk drawer. dunno what attracts me to them, but i love them. found breakdown and library at the same time. funny to think about stamping things (like ppls heads?) with "breakdown" one. not sure if it's a command ("break down, now!") or an observation ("you are so broke down right now...").Labels: moblog, random

Chihuly at the De Young
The Chihuly exihibit was both more and less than I'd expected. More photos to come--these are (remarkably) from my phone (just because I like uploading on the run...)
The shadows and reflections and light were incredible. The throngs of people were mitigated by a snack (the cafe was tasty! thx for the tip, miz db!) and the audio tour. It was a little nervewracking how close people were to the glass (rulebreakers! agh!). But overall, a good activity with sy's family. Next weekend, Frida!Labels: chihuly, moblog

irony caught this moment on the way to work this morning...treadmills, on the way to my treadmill job, and the dog looking on in disbelief while his mom works out (indoors!) without him.
yeah, i'm imagining i know how he feels (tho mebbe he has a penchant for step aerobics. who knows...)Labels: dogs, moblog

sweetpea with sweetpea
i love my patient lil pup. i put her into a sit-stay to get some photos, tried to corral her little sis into the same photo, and managed to get this shot of kehoe... (finally settled for a shot of toki on her own, staring at her toy...i'll post it later)Labels: moblog

At last!
PAWMA was even more sleep-deprived than expected, thanks to a late night excursion to Albertsons, the Eugene airport (to pickup one of our teachers who arrived on a red-eye from sf), and an inadvertent tour of the Yoncalla area. Things I learned: 1. don't knock on doors when it's dark and scary out (don't worry, we didn't); 2. good conversations can make for longer road trips; and 3. most gas stations don't stay open 24-hours in oregon.Labels: moblog

tour de gay
[brace yourselves, it's random, possibly drunken, photoblogging...whatever happened to the term moblogging? do people still use it? am i hopelessly 2006?]
And tho it's a bit dorky of me to admit (like that ever stopped me?), I love pride. I'm completely a flaming happy pride queer. Even the tourists don't annoy me as much, and for the most part, I love seeing the dang bay get all fabby and gay. Yes, the world is a scary place, and I'm thankful everyday for the little corner of the world (and this pocket in time) that I get to call home. Ok, enough verklempt...
Riding the Firetruck! ...
Fire dog: I get to ride with rupert! He's sucha love, I forgot to pay attention to the throngs of gorgeous people screaming at us. Well, a good dog is a good thing. So no biggie. ...
Clean indoor plumbing rocks dyke march: This was a stellar year for indoor plumbing. I didn't have to use the portapots at all. (Now, pride sunday was a whole different matter--yeeech!) ...
Muffs: Oddly cute and cuddly. I'm a little troubled by these, but only a little. Plus, we spotted loo and ramen-head here, so I was happy happy happy (aka gay!) by this point. ...
Free beers! Some people give out lollipops, some people give out condoms. But some people give out Tecate! Now that's love. ...
Yay! A big part of the march is all the love. There's literally an outpouring of love from all the windows and cars and peeps all around. I never can get enough of this... ...
Ice Cream! Part of the beauty of the dyke amble (not really much marching going on) is being able to duck into Bi-Rite Creamery and get a double cone. ...
Yay! Gay! I <3 queers! Dolores park before the dyke march. It was much warmer than it looks, and thanks to jy and ang, we had a primo spot and got to hang out comfortably on blankets, and watch the world go by...Labels: moblog, queer
