shtanks
in no particular order, thought i should pause in my turkey-binge (i'm takin' 12 hours turkey-free suckas! -- chinese food last night, lunchie...? then it's back to turkey...and dumplings, turkey jook, cold turkey...).
- bright and shiny
- keedeeehoe
- still bein able to see (and for my very cool doctor, who is kind, caring, professional, and very proactive in helping manage my eyes)
- good people in my life, who are willing to lift heavy boxes, and who are willing to travel to see me (and those who haven't yet, but are in mutual thinkins).
- fooood...not being hungry (yep, this even means TANKS for turkey leftovers for DAYS).
- despite gettin older, bein able to huli a boat and get back on it (repeatedly). bein able to paddle in a postcard.
- a warm and cosy place to call home, complete with good food and friends, and a corner to paint in.
- my bike, my truck, my borrowed boat -- all been around the block, but still goin strong (kindred spirits, anyone?).
- a job that doesn't hurt (much), and that gives me a living (not a killing, but i can live with a living).
- the most gorgeous commute ever...complete with inspiration in smashed up cars, beers, and amazing sunsets.

ACK-CENT
Your Result: The West Your accent is the lowest common denominator of American speech. Unless you're a SoCal surfer, no one thinks you have an accent. And really, you may not even be from the West at all, you could easily be from Florida or one of those big Southern cities like Dallas or Atlanta.
well, lowest common denominator, or no, west is the beeeeest!

gobble gobble
yum!...startin to think about our pake-tofurkey extrabbaganza this weekend. not sure what'll happen, but that's the joy of it, eh? here's a bit of inspiration so far...
of course, I reserve the right to just heat up the grill and throw on whatnot.
had our first crab of the season last night. remembering the time with crabby [bought a fresh live crab in halfmoon bay, and ended up that ls had to cook *and* eat it all herself, as i'd named it crabby and spent the ride home talking to it...i couldn't even eat it!], i opted for the dead, cooked, fresh crab at the farmer's market. we paid for the convenience, but it was delish. stir fried with a bit [or a lot] of garlic, scallions, black bean sauce...yum! so good, i forgot to take any photos. oops. guess i'm too hungry to ever be much of a food blogger... ...
FOOD-le
speaking of eating well, and forgetting to document it...this weekend was a lovely weekend of foodling and discovering new places.
- Binh Minh Quan: Friday night, after a long and exhausting week, shiny and I were actually searching for pho 84 , when we found parking right outside of BMQ. Hungry, exhausted, and grumpy [me, anyway], we stumbled into the place and had cheep eats of deliciousness.
- Pagolac: Nothing like someone gettin older to go out and eat a leisurely meal with folks you don't know. So, our second Vietnamese dinner in as many days, and I could still have had more. The food was good and varied, the [tiny!] kitchen was clean, and the service was friendly, despite the crowd.
- Love at First Bite: We were there to share a little "first love" with quintissential local boy and foodie, R. There was a real. live. letterpress. next door. It was a lovely way to end a rambling weekend. [Oh, actually, the crab delight dinner was the end of the weekend, but you know whaddimean...]
[apologies to savtob who insists that it's FOOT-le, like foot. in my world, it's FOOD-le...]
